The Cure - synth gear used?

tho i already participated early in this thread, today,,, while briefly glancing over the first page ,,, i misread it as thread about:

cure for the used synth gear hoarding a.k.a. GAS

it's funny how brain sees what it wants to see.. earlier, due to the "dated synth" thread going on right now, i was pondering for the 100th time, how to curb my addiction and gain will to sell excess gear i.e. thin the herd.

You can hear the Kurzweil in action at the Bestival gig back in 2011.As you will hear the internal sounds from the Kurzweil are quite different to how they currently sound. I’ve actually played on this keyboard in Rogers studio in Devon and its a wonderful machine. The top keyboard in this show was a Roland XP50 that was actually broken but Roger needed to fill the keyboard stand for looks sake.
That's an interesting position. I did wonder exactly who was using what synth live and what was somehow otherwise controlled. I have an eye for Ham B/C3+Leslies and noted there were none of the latter on stage, so pondered what actually got used. I wonder also if the bands all used the same Ham B/C3 look-alike, if they were the real thing, or Les sims, where was the Leslie etc. On the same theme I wondered where everyone's keyboard was, many seemed to use the same ones, I can only guess there was as suggested, a link to the band member's rack or something. I decided everyone was playing live so the set up was a bit of a mystery.

Here for the gear

i love the cure. Cool thread. For me, born in 80, my music was all over the place. I knew so many popular songs by the cure. I didnt really dig into them until high school, the crow soundtrack came out, and i only knew disinigration and pornography. As ive gotten older I love the Cure more and more, especially after hard times. When you find other cure fans, its like finding Melvins fans. Your in this weird club of outliers who are comfortable being aliens.

As far as I’m aware the Kurzweil and XF6 are linked via wireless midi to two Mac/minis running Mainstage. Mainstage will be running EXS24 plus any plug ins that Roger is using such as Ivory for pianos.I managed to rescue Rogers Emulator samples from his old E4. The samples were then converted to EXS24 format so they can be loaded and played back from Mainstage. Roger Tech will load the shows set into Mainstage so the all Roger has got to do is enter each preset in sequence so for instance if the band start a show with Shake Dog Shake then preset 1 on the Kurzweil will load the presets in Mainstage via midi ready for that song. If the band choose to start the show with another song then preset 1 will always represent what’s on the set list for that show. It’s an easy way to play multi setlists the way that the Cure do.
