Especially the TR606 it sounds very cheap like the drumkits on those cheap Casio keyboards. It can sound good if you layer it but thats a different story. I did buy the RD-6 (don't ask me why )

Maybe there's some secret sauce in the DACs or EPROMs but I really don't care.
And even that can be accurately enough be emulated.

Hardware vs VSTi. I prefer much HW over software, even if the HW has samples only. Why would you even buy any HW gear if software can almost emulate everything?

Every time I see a slutznest tucked with dual manual organs, I get misty eye'd for my old C3 + Leslie. Glutz rest their souls.

Each has its advantages and disadvantages. And it depends on the preferred workflow of the user.

I buy hardware because I like to fiddle with knobs. I would buy a thousand dollar vintage compressor only for the fun to own it.

Buying a sample drum machine that doesn't let me change the samples is IMHO ridiculous. The only reason to buy a real vintage drum machine of that kind is - again - the fun to own it.

What's cool about the LinnDrum though is the faders. I think you need to buy a mixer and a sampler to recreate the workflow.

I'm fine with knobs, but miss panning on cheaper drum machines.

How about $2,000 worth of Eurorack modules in a set pretty much cloning the Moog3?

They already have the five modules that are in effect the ARP 2500 with of course a few more to complete the set in the works.

maybe trying to fit the beatles into your machines that had some much more provenance is not the most effective. Why go for the beatles and new-apple, rather than get old provenance?

I think the ETA for the Pro-800 is january, but it's all very quiet on the Solina after we saw the initial prototype.

Idk whether to laugh or to cry. That would save me a ton of work, but then I would have two sets of moogerfoogers... I would rather have it as one module per panel. I dislike these obese modules.

I have a korg pm40, something similar is currently being made by an unknown manufacturer. the idea with interchangeable modules would be nice ..
but it was announced fx for the eurorack, think that makes the most sense.
whether it has to be exactly spacefooger .. not necessarily ..

Do you want to avoid the same problems as BOSS's compact effectors?
Avoided by coalescing?
