I got my Tr-09 today, matches the TB-03 I'm not going to be complete until they do the TR-08 (and maybe a TR-06).

I'd much rather an MC-02 myself.
It would complement the TB-03 nicely.

SP-04
MC-03
JP-88
V-SYN (Somehow)
VC-02 (Vocal Designer)
Integra-0
JP-80 (SuperNatural)
JD-A1 (Single JD-XA analog voice)
2D-Scoop (Twin D-Beam Scooper combo)

...It's late

edit: MX-01, mini version of the MX-1, hub for your portable Boutique set-up. Would actually be kind of nice.

Getting closer to 808 day once again! Could this be the time we are waiting for ? I'm hoping so ! I know I can't afford the original 808 this day and time!

I'm starting to think 808 day won't happen.

It's just over 2 weeks away and Roland haven't announced they're changing the world yet again.

The way the holes are drilled in the new SEO2 it we just take a few alterations to get most of the 808 controls in the right spots.

And nobody saw that one coming (Roland doing a minimoog type non-ACB), so that shows you they can keep things under wraps, and they can deliver a true analog module.

These days I'm one of the biggest Roland skeptics because I love their classic gear so much -- but ever since the SEO2 I'm starting to wonder if they may really be about to shock the world on 808 day.

Probably not, but for the first time in a long time ... they could be logistically poised to do it.

Maybe.

...Probably not.

.......... But, maybe.

like that.

I wouldn't expect analog because doing it in analog would be a bit of a dead end. ACB models on the other hand, can easily be extended, enhanced, improved, repackaged, and sold again and again, making them a better vessel for carrying Roland's legacy sounds forward. It's an investment that can keep on giving.

If they were to make an analog drum machine I would expect it to be hybrid and its own thing, not a recreation. One that's specifically designed to bring the aspects of analog drum machines that people seek in analog drum machines. An approach similar to what they did with the JD-XA.

They're too busy trying to get their own boxes out of the gate right now.

We know that Roland's still working with Malekko and that we can expect more System-500 stuff soon*. With that coming up, in addition to Malekko's own products, I don't think they have to time to work on a drum machine for Roland right now.

* Mentioned somewhere in this recorded stream. Forgot to note the exact time, sorry.

I've been waiting for some kind of news too, maybe they just want to push subscriptions for now? Would've been really happy to see TB-08 boutique.
