I have the Brazillian version. I was hoping to use this setup as a Hz/V to MIDI, but it seems too clunky!

Any words on this?
Mine exhibits similar behavior. I don't think the MIDI OUT on MIDI-fied Monotribes is particularly useful, aside from converting the sync in clock to MIDI clock output.

with 4 voice Monotribe, on a composite synth I have
dubbed Polytribe.

Noise up 1/4 on all 4 Monotribes.

Lives for gear

I think the Monotribe is the sweetest version of the MS-20 filter Korg's put out. There's just an extra pinch of sweetness that isn't there on any of the others. Great work, Zaphod!

Went ITB for this one (if you call playing a MIDI file through MIDIBAR ITB)
Anyhow, this is Marriage of Figaro by W.A. Mozart for 4 Monotribes!

The Monotribe controls all!
Monotribe #5 MIDI OUT with drums on sends it MIDI CLOCK OUT
through the `14 to the perFOURmer thru to Kenton USB Box to MS-20
(can`t use the 4 other Monotribes in this config)

order of performance
Monotribe drums and MS-20 percussion
Vermona 14
Vermona perFOURmer
The only synth I tweaked live was the MS-20

EDIT: The CV out of the `14 is fed to the TOTAL IN on the MS-20 to control pitch of percussion

@monkeyxx is it tough soldering to these SMD pads.
I took one of my Monotribes apart to spray a switch
and these pads seem very very small!

I have done some Monotribe work. Mostly on the larger solder pads, but a little on the smaller ones.

I tried to replace or add a part to the Volca Drums, which is also SMD, and completely failed multiple times.

SMD is a no-go for me, generally speaking. My hands just aren't stable enough at that micro level, I guess.

I don't think SMD rework is for everyone. That's just me.

The Monotribe in RECORD/SEQUENCE mode
"played" from its ribbon (you can tell)
MIDI OUT to Vermona '14 with Self Oscillating Filter+Noise
LFO+ENV2 mode. LFO synched to Monotribe.

Man these Monotribes are handy! Drums, MIDI CLOCK, sequencer!!!

Monotribe #5 starts out with drums.

MS-20Kit (in ring mod mode) controls
Polytribe (Monotribes 1,2,3,4) via
kenton usb hub to CV OCD.

Tried to show the filter sweeps on these
bad boy tribes by holding down chord clusters!

Starts out Monotribe #5 for drums
Add in MT1thru4 but these are slow LFOs instead of 1 shot,
for more consistant modulation.

Love the way that none of the Monotribes are the exact same pitch of the others.
I think this is one of the benefits of VCOs. However, like Obi Wan Kenobi, it
depends from what reference point you want to accept!

37 seconds in, MS20 faded up

1 minute in, Blofeld organ patch, "additive" synthesis, no filter,
but osc FM.

2 minutes in Vermona 1404.

digital outnumbered 8:1

5 monotribes, 1 MS-20, 2 Vermonas
1 Blofeld

Thanks.

Had sort of a eureka moment in regards to stepping up the value of that
Monotribe vibe.

When you set up the CV/Gate, if you purposefully set the Monotribe to S-trigger and not V_trigger and pull out the gate/trigger reference the Monotribe will sound as a drone, never clicking ever.

You then repurpose the gate to trigger a ADSR eurack to a filter and VCA, converting that tribe sound through a real ADSR envelope.
Then you set your Fc on the tribe, set it to slow triangle LFO, and modulate the cutoff.

All I need is a quad ADSR, a quad filter and a quad VCA, case and power supply. In other words, 2018!!!

This has lots of polytribe.
Starts out Blofeld Arp
then polytribe
I add in and subtract the MS20 from the mix
during the experiment.

Now that my Monotribes are no longer used to Polychain the MS-20, they are free to do
percussive duty.

First you here MT#3, that is HH sound only, fed into reverse gate on 2404VLZ4 (the mixer)
Then I add in snare from MT#2 that is sidechained compressed by the MT#1 bass using the stereo lock
on a dbx compressor. These output also go into the mixer

Using each MT for a different percussive sound allows for different EQ, panning and effects.

This is what I came up with. melody by MS-20 polychained by Blofeld module,
harmony by Blofeld keys. So either korg or waldorf in this one.

1 dedicated Monotribe per precussion sound.

Starts HH+Synth sound MT No.1
then Snare+Synth MT No.2
then Bass Drum MT No.3

Snare and BD through dbx compressor
All MTs then routed through 2404VLZ4 FX "gated reverb"

Added in ditty in Dminor

OK, the first thing you here is the Synth Channel of the Rhythm Wolf
with the pre-fade effects up, but the slider down on the 2404VLZ going to
a hall reverb on the 2404VLZ

Then I fader in the drum track of the Rhythm Wolf, panned left of centre
but sent to Effect 12 of the VLZ2404 which is the Reverse Gate.
I then bring in the Volca Beats panned centre, and then the Monotribe
which is panned right of centre and goes to the mixer with Effect 12 Reverse Gate.

The Gate and MIDI Chain is Synch out of Volca Kick to Synch In on Monotribe.
MIDI OUT (Channel 1 and 10) is sent to the RW.
The Monotribe supplies ALL NOTE INFORMATION for both the MT and RW.
(The MT does that dub step sound on the synth channel)

I realized the Rhythm Wolfs synths sucks, but I retasked it to an effects role.

Tell me what you think!

Really cool, sounds like a DJ scratching. Also very nice background effects. Reminds me I need to get more into that (loops and FX sounds). Adds a lot of interest to most kinds of songs.

Thanks.
It is the Monotribe synth section with the noise full, a high res, on Wide mode, with record/sequence on, so you can simulate the record scratch. (the S&H adds to it)
100% Monotribe for that sound.
I should do a tutorial!

I took the Monotribe to the Carnival,
but he took Vermona '14 along, as well as a chap named Blofeld, to great effect.
The Monotribe, being the precocious brat he is, was the first to get on, and the last to get off the rides.

This is the story they told me!

And later that evening, the other Monotribe chills with the MS-20kit,
a Rhythm Wolf and Volca Kick....
