Nice. Very underrated VA on the Blofeld. I actually prefer it's VA to the Virus as I find it easier and more enjoyable to program. Also, the Blofeld can sound properly bright when you want it to. The Virus is kind of dark. The plethora of distortion algos which can be global or at either filter is great for adding some dirt.

Its a shame the Virus FX have to be so much better. We can't have everything we want though, can we?

How do you like the Orfium site? I'm still on soundcloud only, but I'm thinking the end is near with soundcloud.

I would like to create a patch bank for the Blofeld. I've been randomly writing over some patches here and there. One thing I've been wondering, is whether there is a proper librarian for the Blofeld. One thing I really liked about the DSI stuff, is that even though the plugin editors were crap, the librarian made it really easy to move patches around and organize then, name them, all on a qwerty/computer so you're not scrolling for days to enter a patch name and classify it as a pad, bass, or whatever. Do you know if something like this exists?

About half way down the page and it's free.

Thanks, but I'm on a Mac. I found this, written just three months ago, but the app isn't even in the app store anymore. All I see is a Mopho editor/librarian for $30. Bummer. There was also Patch Morpher which looked really cool and you could sort of vector between two or even more different patches, but its an app that hasn't been updated in a while. Guess I'll have to do things the old fashioned way. Thanks.

Sorry, OT.

I'm on a Mac too. I run it via Wine (I think, there's another Windows emulator but I can't think of the name at the mo').

Yep. In fact I'll be releasing a new version of Edisyn, with radical improvements, probably tonight or tomorrow, the first in several months.

Proof that you CAN hack real-time control of the 01WT/SMP on a Blofeld.
7 years ago with the release of OS1.15 and this feature they said it
could not be done on KVR.....

41 seconds in, backed up by a Studiologic Sledge 2 (OS2.2)

FWIW: Edisyn 11 is out. Will have an even newer version in a little while, but not with so many big improvements.

Thanks for the kind words.
I am up to G096, with less than 150 patches to go until I will have
1024 original patch, it is a long road as I started programming it September 2013.
I took the brave step of sending a sysex of 1024 of INIT patches to the Blofeld,
so I would not be biased by presets...but man, it takes a long time to program
1024 patches!!!! Sometimes (depending on the patch) I can take several days to
get my idea into the Blofeld!

Here for the gear

apologizes for semi hijacking the tread. been thinking about getting a blofeld and you seem to know a lot about them. seen in another thread you saying a ppg is a ppg and a blofeld is a blofeld. i know it's not going to sound the same because of the filter, 8bit, different waves, etc but it is possible to get "similar" sounds like these?

the alien growling sound that comes in around 15 secs.

i'm new to subtractive synthesis and never had any experience with wavetable synthesis. it sounds like there's more going on in the sound on how it's changing than just an lfo and filter tweaking. to me it sounds like a sample being slowed down and sped up like from an old keyboard sampler but somehow done with knobs vs pressing different keys.

The 01WT/SMP and 02WT/SMP taken full advantage of,
using a legato ARP on the Blofeld. First synth in.
No filters for either wavetable.
Osc3 is a sinewave with modifier lfo

MS-20 mono lead. Sledge plays chords.
So it is like the island of Misunderstood synths
HOF Reverb and Deco plus 3:1 compression in Audacity.

EDIT: and newer tech still...

New room. New mixing board. Slowly moving stuff into the new digs.
Only what you see, is in the room so far. The Blokeys, 2 tribes, and an MS-20.

I can say without doubt that the 2404VLZ seems to have a cleaner
sound and more headroom than my now retired garage 1202VLX4!
