the chemical brothers' sound

i realy love the the sound of the chemical brothers' albums.they just seem to have a thickness and weight i dont hear in alot of electronic music.anyone know what they use to achieve this?unlike daft punk i know they dont generally base whole tracks on big chunks of other peoples records.they seem to blend the samples they use more cohesively with the synths.

also any clues as to what they use to get the drums and bass sounding so good?they dont have the cheap sucky sound of lots of over comporessed/sidechained tracks you hear at the moment but really hit hard..

ive read they use ems synths but not much more......thanks!

I was going to post something like this yesterday as i was re listeinig some of chemical bros stuff. man after like 5-10 years or so.. love it!

i love the Surrender album and dig your own hole.

i know they use a lot of korgs stuff.

ill like to know what they use for their drum samples and programing it. cause i think they use external samplers, and those are a bitch to program without computer.
well i guess with the AKAI or something but after listeing to thier stuff it seems it took a loong time to program.

I remember reading alot about their studio habits in the British Dance mags in the 90s. They are big guitar stompbox collectors and they use them all over their early stuff

not so sure about the elektron gear, maybe now yeah, but I saw them live 4 or 5 years ago and they has the whole arsenal of analog synths driven by doepfer sequencers.

I remember seeing a juno and a xpander but they had loads of gear on stage. the sound was MASSIVE!

probably one of the most intense concerts I've ever heard.
