black devil disco club

Hi just wondering if anyone has heard this offering on LO recordings...

This duo originally did stuff in the late seventies under the same name, however this record is just from one of the duo as one of them died.

not actually sure when it was originally recorded but was released very recently, so I'm guessing it's new stuff...

anyhow it's pretty refreshing to hear some electronic music that has got some decent dynamic range and hasnt been mastered into a 2D squarewave piece of media that you feel like turning down rather than up!

so does anyone no what this guy uses, all sounds very OTB to me - great record, its disco by the way!!!

It is a re-issue of some of the original early 80s stuff. If you like it, you should check out the Luke Vibert remixes of some of the tracks from a few years back, they were on Rephlex Records. The album was supposed to be reissued a few years ago, but something held it up. Disco and Italo are my favorite genres, I have a huge collection if you are interested...

I have Rephlex #146 and it's great stuff. This is a rerelease originally from 1978 so it's very, very OTB! I haven't heard the new/other material.

i've been a cbs-addict for years

the black devil records are really incredible, me and a friend has been trying to reach that sound for some time

Bernard Fevre's solo-stuff is also incredible... i would probobly kill people to get my hands on original-pressings of the vinyls

I have seen the original here in Chicago for serious $$$. CBS plays a mixture of Italo/ Wbmx /Jacking/disco/techno. Its a good place to hear some obscure tracks that will have you saying "how could I have not heard this before?" all day.

kikumoto, I just saw Vibert live a couple of months ago. He played a laptop live/Dj set at a small. It was pretty cool, sorta a mega remix of his material from the last couple of years. Have you checked out Prins Thomas and Lindstrom? They are a bit more house oriented but have a major space disco feel to there sound.

The thing in my avatar is the X0X B0X. It is a diy kit 303 emulator that some friends at MIT designed. I built one of the beta kits and it really rocks!

his recordstore the "hotmix" on the Westeinde was THE best recordstore in the country
most good djs bought their **** there, if only for their own enjoyment, he simply refused to stock anything bad
REALLY influential for a lot of ppl. including me - at a critical moment
since ehm 1996 or so Clone in Rotterdam took over. Recommended!

link

oh yeah and Eddy used to do the italo there - he now makes quite good progressive trancetechno stuff (not my cup of tea but... who's complaining? not me)
