Nice setup! What multi tier stands are you using for your keyboards? Some day I hope to have the money for synths with real keys again and I'll need something to put 'em on.

here's what I want to come up with for my live rack. I have every thing except
the bluetube and the rolls, a little fab on the vented panel and a shelf.

Finally starting to look right. Deepmind back from repair, Boog and Neutron on the desk instead of on the coffee table. Not quite sure how to effectively route everything yet. I think I'll need at least a splitter and a merge box.

I really like how the most important gear in the room, the padlock, is proudly displayed.

That laptop looks tiny compared to everything else.

What happened to Deepmind? I'm curious because I want to buy Deepmind 6 or maybe 12

You should see the work one, 13 inches of cold apple steel

I usually have it on the desk area, but I really should get a henge dock for it and ditch it as a display. Never really thought of doing this until you pointed out how unnecessary it is as a screen with the 2x27s)

It wouldn't boot up. I think it must have been jostled around and perhaps a cord came loose inside? I never got any indication of what was fixed, but it works, so who knows? I've seen that mentioned in another thread. Now it's properly out of warranty though I'd probably be inclined to open it up instead of sending it away.

This isn't really very slutty of me, but I've parted with just about everything I own, and I'm left with the bare essentials.
1. A groovebox (E2S)
2. A monosynth (TB3)
3. A compressor (FMR RNC)
3. A Microphone (Shure SM58)
4. A mixer (Mackie 1202VLZ4)
5. A multitrack recorder (Tascam DP-008EX)
That's pretty much it.
The mac is on it's way out as well, a gift to the kiddies.
I've gone through countless iterations of gear and I just find what I have above, works perfectly for me.

How do you like the Platform desk? Is having the video monitors that high bothersome? I'm thinking of getting one, but can't find many reviews on them - the build quality seems really good, but I'm a little worried about the ergonomics . . .

how do you feel about this not having MIDI ?
or isn't that an issue? i'm after something similar, but i really want MIDI
for possibility of synchronised multitrack recording.

I don't do any multitrack recordings, I just do everything live and record the stereo out of my mixer.

If you're looking for an MTR with midi, you'll need to get the original Tascam DP 24 (not the DP 24SD as the newer version doesn't have midi).

That being said, you can use the newer Tascam DP 24SD for synchronised recordings so long as one piece of your equipment does trigger input. What you can do is record a click track with say an 808 rim shot on one of the 24 tracks, and then do an auxiliary send to the trigger input of your gear.

I did own the DP24SD at one point and this system worked to sync my electribe 2S as it has a trigger input.

I however got rid of the DP24SD in favour of the DP-008ex + a mixer, as I like having more routing options for sampling etc...

It was a souvenir from an internal conference I talked at last year.

If you're worried, grab the measurements off the output site and put your monitors at that height to check. It does feel a little high at times, and I kind of wish I'd gone for 24in monitors rather than 27in. I might get some monitor arms to lower it a little at some point. Build quality is pretty decent. It survived a move where I wasn't able to fully disassemble it due to a stripped screw.
Anyone in NYC with one of those Output desks? for more opinions.

Thanks. I messed it all up plugging things in (iConnectivityMidi4+ arrived). This sort of tidiness is my end goal though. I'm thinking about making some shelves for the synth stand and moving the monos over. Also ran into a problem with the MX400 not starting up right. Possibly overheating due to blocked vents. Took it out of the rack and it's fine. ???

I'm not much of a player, more a noodler. It does the trick. Good integration with the Arturia software, and has enough of every thing to make anything work: (encoders + faders + pads + keys). It will likely end up in the keyboard drawer once I rearrange things a bit.

It's been a while since I posted an updated pic (or two). Lots of changes - sold the Jupiter-8, Synthex, one of my 480L reverbs, Cirklon, Spectralis, Octatrack, Fizmo, Lex 300, and a few other odds and ends. I'm actually happy with what's here and how it all works. A bunch of simple dedicated tools that can all sync to a master clock with 1 button press or can just as easily be standalone. Removing the complex gear means I can control how simple or how complex things get via configurations and patching rather than having to dive in deep every time I wanted to do something quick.

Beautiful setup. Your YouTube videos are fantastic and inspiring. Roland should send you a cut of the System-8 you sold me.
