Boss DR-880 opinions

hello,

would someone share there opinions about this drumcomputer?

i'm a non PC user in the studio so Drumsoftware is not an option

what i like to know how it sounds and if its usable in different styles of music

I think the unit sounds great as far as drum machines go which is why I bought mine. Ive had a Boss DR770 and a Roland R70 as well as an Alesis SR16.
This box sounds the best out of them all IMO. Style wise, it has it covered
It will do pop/rock/R&B/Hard Rock and the latin stuff just fine.

What I like as well on the box is the Guitar/Bass input with effects that you can use to process the Guitar or Bass.

For me here I went the software route so mine just sits here now.
I wanted more REAL(Bigger) sounding kits if you will. The DR880 doesnt suck by any means and if I had to I could ditch the software and use it and make it sound fine

Its in the classifieds here if you look

IMO the only ones worth looking at is the DR880 and the Alesis SR18
