Roland TD1kv hihat triggers both shank and tip

Roland TD1kv hihat triggers both shank and tip when playing the shank which causes odd sounds especially when playing through EZdrummer or BFD3. (It does the same with the sounds from the module. It was just way less noticable because the build in Roland sounds are not very good.)

Basically the tip sound overrules the shank sound so instead of a natural Tshhhh I hear TshT almost everytime I try to trigger the shank.

How can I fix the double triggering?
The drum module is very limited so I can't adjust anything regarding sensitivity or gating. (It's the TD-1 module.)
