Building Mini E Kit to work with Slate's SSD5. Which works best?

I am downsizing my Private commercial studio to just a writing suite for me.

I currently own SSD5 and a TD12 Kit. I am selling the kit and moving towards a Mini Kit.

I was thinking either the Roland SPD 30 or the Yamaha Multi 12.

I am at a standstill as i cant decide.

Anyone have ANY experience with Slates Drum VSTI and either of these units?

I plan on getting a Kick pedal, external mesh snare trigger, Hi Hat pad and HH Control pedal to go along with the main unit.

I know Alesis has a unit but based on past experience with their own warranty repair center, its not even an option (especially something that gonna get hit with sticks).

Can anyone offer any insight?

I know both units mentioned are several years old. History states that Roland will keep supporting the Octopad series. Not so sure about Yamaha. Seems like they dipped their toe in and have abandoned future products of this type.

I'd really like to know if the Slate VSTi's work with one better than the other. I am sticking with the SSD5, so what ever unit works best with Slate will be the one i get.
