upgrading to Nuendo 6

I'm in the process of getting nuendo 6, but my current dongle drops out intermittantly now after 11 years.

My question is:

Do I need to authorize the replacement dongle in Nuendo 3 before upgrading to 6?

I just tried installing the nuendo 6 trial on that machine.

doesn't want to run in XP, looks like vista and higher.

I don't know if my cards work in Vista they don't in windows 7

I don't want to support microsoft anymore. Buying an os for a program is not logical.

I'll see if I can get my progamming guy to make a Linux install for cuebase7/nuendo 6.
Then I'll post linux install somewhere.
otherwise, its mac city for me.

Nuendo 6 & Cubase 7 will not install to XP.
Windows 7 recommended.
Changing to Mac will not help either, as only the last few versions are supported and you will be right back on the constant updating of OS issues all over again, not to mention the much greater plugin hassle (all the mac users I know have trouble with every new Mac OS update, mainly reauthorizing plugins, getting them to work etc) and the vastly more expensive platform - and the new iBins are not that expandable either

The grass might look greener on the other side of the fence, but it is only an optical illusion.

Yes, you will need to transfer the license to the new dongle.
Even if you are not planning to upgrade I will suggest you to replace the dongle if it is giving you problems; Or at least make sure that it is register at your MySteinberg account.

In case it fails, you will be able to replace the license inside of it.

The simplest thing to do will be to order a new eLicenser: http://www.steinberg.net/en/shop/buy...elicenser.html

Connect them both to the computer, open the eLicenser Control Center and drag and drop your license from the old key into the new one.

Best regards,
GN
