Use a Sennheiser SK-20 transmitter with line level input. Keyboard Synthesizers

Here for the gear

Use a Sennheiser SK-20 transmitter with line level input.

Howdy - Any of you done this? I want to connect line level to my Sennheiser SK-20 transmitter ( padded down 40 db) to get wireless signal to a Front of house speaker so as to avoid a complicated and long cable run. I was surprised that the manual shows 2 pin out setups for the 1/8" TRS input plug. One for Mic- with Tip + and ring & sleeve both -. The other is for Line - with ring + and tip & sleeve -. I would assume the mic choice would be fine if my signal is down 40db. But thought I ask here, as I'm sure someone else has had reason to try this rather strange approach. Thanks for being out there!

The mic input also has a bias voltage for electret condenser microphones, so you'd presumably want a DC blocking capacitor in the circuit to use it in your setup.

If you can remove your pad from your source, it would make more sense all around to use the "normal" line level connection method, in my opinion.

The Sleeve is always ground/shield
The Tip is the mic-level input, and the Sleeve is the line-level input.
You must short (to ground-sleeve) the unused input.
So, for line-level input, you must connect the Tip to Sleeve-ground,
and the unbalanced line-level input goes to the Ring terminal.
