I would like to say Kim is a very good drummer and well worth checking out. He did a wonderful job on a song for me and I recommend him highly! Not an easy assignment because I wanted "less is more" on an old school ballad. He picked his spots nicely, and came up with a very tasteful approach, with minimal input.

Here for the gear

Hey, Nelson!

Are you interested in a collaboration?

I'm planning to record a self released EP and I'm wondering if you would like to play in it! It's part of the plan to release it on Youtube and Spotify.

Check out if you like the music. This is one of the songs that will be featured of which I recorded a demo at home:

Renegade - Alive (Demo Version) by Renegade | Free Listening on SoundCloud

Cheers!

Just to bump this thread, I've come back to Kim based of what we did initially. He is really good, and I value what he doesn't do as much as what he does.... He picks his spots and works to make the track work better. The drums work more organically that way, and it's something not a lot of guys do..... Listening can be more important than playing.....Great drummer!

To avoid further misunderstandings, I will try and clarify what I mean by sessions and collaboration.

A session is me selling a drum track for a negotiated rate.

A collaboration is a more vague definition, but it means that we both get something out of it. It is not me providing a free drum track that I don't know where is gonna end up. So if you expect me to do something for free, at least you have to take the time to tell me who you are, and where your project is going.

But it can be a lot of things. I might do a free track if I really dig the music, and think it could get exposure that I might somehow benefit from. I am usually willing to cut bundle deals and work within limited budgets, as long as I feel I get a fair share of whatever cake there is. I have even done free tracks, and received payment later when the music got sold or started to generate money. But that requires that I know who you are, and a little bit of trust to be established.

I can also usually be persuaded to do one free demo track if I think that could bring me more work in the future. And always, if there is money involved, if the tracks I made do not cut it for you, you will not have to pay. That is standard procedure with most online drum track services.

I made this thread rather spontaneously, mainly for international networking, as I live in a pretty small country, so it is written with an open mind. And every project is different these days anyway, so I guess that is why I wasn't super specific about rates and what way to work when I wrote post.

Hope this makes sense.

Best regards

Kim
