How do I get that deep rich bass drum thump like a Console does?

A console can produce a terrible sounding kick drum, or it can produce a rich deep bass drum.

Reaper can produce a terrible sounding kick drum, or it can produce a rich deep bass drum.

It has nothing to do with consoles vs. DAW's. It has to do with the frequency content of the sound itself (the kick drum itself). You put a crap kick drum through a console, it's still going to be crap.

Thanks for absolutely nothing. Luckily Kenny G. and Warren had videos covering this exact topic.

@ open_source is actually right, but if you want a quick answer that works a lot of the time, check the bx plugin called boom.
Its a cheap VST that is a very feature limited dynamic eq centered at 60 hz.
It will add oomph to kicks in a way you will dig.

Or, similarly....: MaxxBass - Bass Enhancer Plugin | Waves

It's a bit like a silicone breast implant though...everyone knows you're using it, but most won't mention it
As open_source writes, it won't disguise a poorly recorded kick....so get it right at source !
