Being Frank with Korn :)

Frank,
The Korn records you worked on had this sweet sound to the midrange. Can you elaborate a little about that?

Was it intentional or did things just come about that way? What console did you mix this stuff on?

All the Korn records I mixed were done on Jonathan Davis' SSL 6000, except "Fight The Power" which was done on an SSL 4000 at A&M studios. I don't have much to say about the midrange other than I don't really eq it much. I tend to stay away from too much eq in the 1k-4k area. That's where the vocal sits and I leave that pretty open for Jonathan's voice.

Frank, is the new album being recorded on the Euphonix system this time around? Or is it an analog recording setup.? Can you elaborate on what you are using for the backend and take us thru the recording path if you can..

Thanks..
