Question Why Instrumentals on Spotify? (seeking information; benefits?)

Orig post: Why Instrumentals on Spotify? (seeking information; benefits?)

I was talking to a sync music rep a while back and now some of my peers are talking about it.

I'm a freelancing music producer and charge a flat rate.

I know Spotify Playlists are important for performing artists but, I'm not completely clear on the benefits of making an instrumental playlist, a public space, benefit a producer/track-maker like myself.

Are we talking about replacing upfront payments and royalty points to accrue streaming revenue instead? (ie: like, instead of receiving money from labels, your money comes solely from Spotify streaming?...or multiple streaming services if you use a DSP?) because, at the moment, it sounds like the main benefit is retaining 100% of your master as opposed to splitting publishing with an agency.

When I used to have representation, I was told to never post my music publicly (including short clips on social media). This was to avoid running into any complications/conflicts when they pitched my music. A Spotify instrumental playlist seems like the antithesis of what I was taught to do.

Can I still use them in my catalog when pitching or showcasing? (local talents, indie, major)
Can I push them to Sync Libraries? (Probably not, right? considering libraries want money too...)

Any information that may fill in the gaps in my brain will be helpful .
