Charging extra for a mix of a remix

Hey there.

So an A&R has asked me to mix a remix of a track ive previously mixed. Basically the same rap song, but with 3 additional (new) verses. Should I be charging for this? If so, my full mix price, or just an add on for having to mix the 3 new verses? The instrumental would stay the same, aside from adding extra sections for the verses.

Unless you're working completely OTB with no recalls and would have to start the mix all over again I wouldn't charge full price personally.

Yes. This is more than a revision. Charge an hourly rate. Charging per song is definitely a good way to go sometimes. But you need to solidify your agreement on what that means with clients/labels in the future and stipulate what atypical extra work like this will cost - typically an hourly rate.
