Bandlab Cakewalk forcing 48K sample rate

I'm trying out Bandcamp Cakewalk and Reaper. I'm on Windows 10 with an old Focusrite Saffire 6 USB (1.1 USB).

I can record at 24-bits / 44K with the WDM driver but selecting ASIO at 24-bits forces me to 48K. It sounds fine but Reaper on the same PC records 24/44 with no problem. I'm wondering why the Bandlab Cakewalk cannot.

Does the ASIO driver belong to the Focusrite interface, Windows 10 or the DAW? (I am new to audio).
