Broadband absorption traps covered in microfiber?

Is this OK to do? I know it doesn't matter really for bass traps, but what about absorption for early reflections? Doesn't the fabric have to let air through? Would microfiber/microsuede be too tightly woven to let air pass?

Yes, probably, though it's not air that has to pass through but sound waves.
