Absorbing bass with high mass foam traps

You can read everywhere in here that foam is useless for absorbing low bass (say, 150hz). This seems a bit of a simplified truth to me, but hey, I’m no expert

I have access to lots of foam (the kind used in madrases) at no cost. Are they really useless in big corner traps? Would I be better off buying Rockwool instead of the free foam? I mean, it’s all about size, isn’t it?
