Leaving Rockwool in its plastic dress - causing 50hz problems?

Heya and Hello!

We started building our studio with main focus on deeper frequency stuff - so we wanted to be sure, to absorb everything in the low end.

At least the whole wall in front of the desk, at the ceiling corners and the corners in the back.

I thought the more, the better. So i decided to leave the whole Rockwool (Sonorock) packages as they are (50cm x 50cm x 100cm) - all wrapped in a very thin packaging plastic foil.

Our room is about 7m x 4m. After measuring with REW i figured out, that there are huge problems about 50hz - which is a problem mode for the room size.

I guess, the procedure would be to use bass absorbers.

But as we used a lot of rockwool already - maybe the problem is the tinywiny bit of plastic we left around the rockwool?

Or - could the compression be a problem?

I have read across the other articles regarding this question, couldnt find a solution as this should only affect higher frequencies. To deal with the HF we used a thick acoustic molton fabric.

The Black wall is the front wall - completely covered with full packages of rockwool - with a depth between 50cm and 60cm.

If you use 80mm Sonorock, it is quite compressed.
After removing the foil you would find the wool to be considerably bigger.
40mm are not compressed that much.
