Pro Tools session decided to change the sample rate of the session by itself

I encountered a VERY STRANGE PT bug. I sent another editor a PT session that was definitely 48kHz, but when he sent it back, the session was now 44.1 kHz, and all the processed audio from his end was now 44.1kHz, even though the original recordings were in 48. So the audio was all playing back slowed down.

He swore that he did not do anything other than download, open, and work on the edits. AND he said that the audio was playing back JUST FINE while he was working, and was genuinely surprised to hear everything slowed down when he opened it back up again after I let him know.

I was scouring the internet looking for a solution and literally found just 1 video about it (link: The video says that this can sometimes happen with non-Avid interfaces, yet I'm pretty sure that the other editor simply worked on his laptop with headphones (no interface).

I ended up creating a brand new session with the correct parameters, importing all the tracks from the previous PT session, and making sure to UNCHECK "Apply SRC," and now everything is playing back fine. Seriously I was having a heart attack. BEWARE PEOPLE!!
