Heritage Audio MCM 8MKII routing questions

Hi!
I am about to pull the trigger on a Heritage MCM-8 MKII 500 series chassis with an 8 channel summing mixer built in. I'm used to having a console to spread my mixes out on, so I am trying to wrap my head around the best way to route everything with the limited amount of inputs on the thing.

My mixes are typically individual tracks > their respective aux busses > master aux bus for overall processing and final gain staging to the master > 2 track master mix track. With multiple effects sends also feeding the 2 track master mix channel.

I have 8 outputs on my interface, and 8 inputs on the Heritage box. How are you guys getting all of your mix into 8 channels? I typically have a stereo drum bus, a parallel stereo drum crush bus, mono bass bus, mono vocal bus (but sometimes stereo), and a couple of stereo guitar busses for each set of guitars that need to be processed differently. But then I usually have at least 3 stereo effects sends. Vocal reverb/delay, guitar reverb/delay and drum fx. Often more than that.

Would you just take the parallel drum bus and the drum fx send, and send it all to the main drum bus, and send that to to Summing mixer? Same with the guitars...all guitars on one bus along with the fx send? Vocals same?

I have never used a summing mixer, but I am desperate to get my mixes out of the box. The thought of cramming all of that stuff, especially the parallel comp and reverbs onto the same bus for summing seems wonky to me, but maybe it's fine?
I would imagine that trying to record back into pro tools coming out of the summing mixer to a stereo track, with the effects sends not hitting the summing mixer but hitting the input of the incoming stereo track would probably have too much latency for that to be viable. Right? I can't imagine that would work...

Thanks for reading this book. Any of you out there have large-ish track counts and sending out to a summing mixer, I would love to hear what your routing workflow is.

Thanks
