Pro Tools Ultimate without HD hardware

Hello

I hope everyone is well.

I have a perpetual 2018 license that is in a current plan.

I am not interested in upgrading to HD hardware since I am very happy with my RME Baby Face Pro.

The Reasons I am interested in upgrading to ultimate are:

-Having Access to more than one video track
-Heat (Is it available without HD hardware?)
-Advanced Automation (Updated features worth it)
-256 tracks ( are 256 available even without HD hardware?)
-Advanced audio editing (Are they worth it?)
-Dolby Atmos mixing
-Advanced Automation (What its added to this?)

I am working mostly on creating sync music but I will like to work on composing for film and videogames, but using my own music as sync music with video is truly what I would like to focus on.

I am wondering if upgrading to Pro Tools Ultimate from Pro Tools 2018 would be worth it for me? The money is not the issue but

I spent time researching avid docs and they

You can run PT Ultimate within it any HDX or HD Native hardware. The only limitation is some of the low lat not monitoring features and you won’t be able to record more than 32 channels at once, for which you would need the HD hardware. All the other increases in automation, Heat, and track counts will persist with Ultimate software only.

thanks, I got ultimate and it is working great with my RME

is heat even worth it? I have a ton of native saturation stuff, so outside of heat being built in, is it any good?

I used Ultimate for years with HDN and HDX hardware and recently with non Avid hardware, Rednet PCIe. I was surprised that Ultimate performed better, especially if your session includes lots of VIs.

Of course you're limited to 32 I/O...

and in few short weeks you will have 384 tracks @ 48/44.1
I never have VI spikes in Ultimate - it's all how you use it and your set up
I even started using my 2018 i9 MBP instead of my 2013 Mac Pro.
I am running tons of VI, NI Ultimate, SSD5 , Superior 3, Ivory, Structure all work even on Mojave and it's not yet qualified.

The newer CPUs (bus designs) are more efficient.
