DADMan roadmap Mojave for MTRX & Pro Tools 2019?

Is there some roadmap or rumor floating around as to when Digital Audio Denmark's DADman software will support Mojave?

While AVID announced Mojave support will be coming 'soon' with Pro Tools 2019, I didn't note any mention of the depth of that support. I'm assuming that it won't translate to support of the MTRX on Mojave.

Anyone have thoughts or experience with DAD and their roadmaps?

Thanks,

Ray Heath

Hi Ray,

Mojave support (and some other stuff) is in the pipeline for the DADman software so please be patient.

Thanks, Jan -

Thanks for the quick response.

As a long time professional software developer and [software/hardware] project manager, I truly understand the difficulties in projecting timelines for deliverables. It is a very hard thing to do.

Still, it would be extremely valuable and healthy for all if manufacturers in this industry were less opaque. I hope great firms like DAD will see the value in, and adopt the practice of publishing such roadmaps.

Hi Jan -

We're approaching three months since this query was entered and Avid has released Pro Tools 2019.5 with support for Mojave. However, I haven't seen anything about DADman updates to support Mojave yet.

Is there any ETA that Digital Audio Denmark can disclose please?

Kind regards,

Ray H.

Hi Jan,

Any update on this? It would be nice if DADman release lined up with Pro Tools / MTRX / Eucon release. Avid's been telling us "soon" for months. They've finally released an update but those of us with an MTRX / S6 have to rely on you as well.

Any further info you can give us would be great.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Ray and Jeff,

All we can say at the moment is that we are working intensely on it as a top priority and it will be released as soon as we are happy with it.

Jan -

Understood. . .and truly appreciate your reply! Of course, DAD fans like me cry out for more. . .and hope that DAD will rethink it's policy in favor of transparency in these areas. Most of us understand missed projections and deadlines; but it is useful to have projections in order to run our businesses.

Hi Jan,

It's been quite some time. Is there any information you can give us as to a status update or projected release date?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Rodrique,

Others are posting on the DUC that they're using separate/older laptops to run DADman, there's also an iPad app that a member of the DUC wrote to control the monitoring section of an MTRX, which I haven't used yet but others have.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mom/id1387772808?mt=8

Hopefully we'll hear something from DAD soon regarding a release or an anticipated release.

Jeff Komar, applications specialist for Avid, just posted a reply in the S6 subforum of Avid's DUC that we should expect a release this week!

Thanks much for the referenced update info, Jeff!

Digital Audio Denmark - you simply must do better at keeping your software up-to-date and communicating expectations if/when you fall behind again.

That's me!

In any case, there's an updated version of DADman for Mojave in your Avid account (but not on DAD's own website yet, interestingly).

Jan -

For reference. . .

The most recent file I see is on DAD's site has 'DADman for MAC OS X Ver. 5.3.1 build 4' with a timestamp of November 28, 2018.

The most recent file I see is on Avid's site is 'DADman MAC Install 5.3.3 build 2b.pkg'. It has a timestamp from March 18, 2019.

The timestamp on the latter does not inspire confidence that this is the Mojave update we've been discussing?

Can we please get an official comment from DAD? Where are we on DADMan Mojave support for the MTRX?

Best regards,

Ray H.

Ignore the timestamp. This is the version and it was released this week.

Hi guys,

DADman ver. 5.3.4 is now available for download on our website.

The key feature of DADman 5.3.4 is the long-awaited Mojave support. The difference between 5.3.3, which has been available for a while through Avid, and 5.3.4, is that 5.3.3 is restricted to certain colour profiles whereas 5.3.4 works on any colour profile.

Another feature of 5.3.4 (and 5.3.3) is the ability to name MADI, Dante and SDI connections in the routing matrix. This has been an issue for those who have multiple MADI and/or Dante interfaces as it has been difficult to for them to easily identify the different interfaces. This requires a firmware update which is also available on the website.

Best regards,
Jan
