Question about lapsed perpetual

I hope someone here will know the deal with this.

I support a client who bought a perpetual license with 12 months of support about two years ago. The current version back then was 12.5.2. He's been chugging away on that since then but is having some issues.

I looked into his Avid Master Account and it's offering him versions right up to 12.7. Presumably this was the last version to drop before his 12 month plan expired. I advised him to download the 12.7 and see if that solves his issues.

But it seems 12.7 is asking for an ilok auth when he runs it. Is this right? Even though he didn't download it within his 12 months, he's still entitled to that version isn't he?

Yes this is correct. With version 12.6 there was a licence update. Have a look here.Licensing Update for Pro Tools v12.6 - Avid Pro Audio Community This needs to be done so that you can run vers 12.7.

Ah yes, that's right - thanks.
So if I go and look in his iLok account, I should find an unused asset authorising PT12.6 (and 12.7).

Hopefully!
