...that needs more gain to reach a certain output doesn’t tend to feedback for that reason. The Audix OM7 is a good example of a mic that requires more gain but is not more prone to feedback.
...theoretical understanding, not instead of it. And in my experience, although there are many better mics for large stages, the OM7 with some processing is a great choice for loud bands in tiny, cramped stages. Let's see what OP comes up with.
