Help! Strange recording latency problem

I’m using an Apollo Twin mk1 into Logic (newest version I think?) and today a new problem came up in two of my projects when adding parts.

I’m playing guitar thru scuffham s gear in low latency mode and using software monitoring. No plugins in Apollo this time. There is practically no detectable latency to me while playing, as usual, so I record the take.

Then while listening back, as long as the track is record enabled or input monitoring is on, it plays back fine. But then when I turn off input monitoring or disarm the track it is delayed.

This has never happened before. I have tried changing the buffer size, messing with recording delay compensation, freezing all other tracks to free up cpu, nothing seems to help. I can toggle input monitoring on and off on the track during playback and hear it switch back and forth from in time to delayed. What is going on here?

I also noticed that one of the plugins on the track went orange while input monitoring is selected- and back to normal while deselected.

Thanks for your help

450 views and nobody has any idea what’s going on?

I’m beginning to suspect this is a glitch and not a setting that needs adjusting. I can’t find any mention of this problem or any solution.

Pretty frustrating! Thinking about reinstalling Logic to see if that helps.
