Unannounced New MIDI FX plugin: "ScriptInst"

Yesterday I loaded up the factory Koto patch and noticed a new MIDI FX plugin on the bottom slot: "ScriptInst". I don't remember reading about it in the 10.4.5 release notes so I guess this is one of those unannounced things they added. Since it was unannounced I'm guessing that it's part of the early stages of something more advanced?

It's not on the menu to select, but you can copy it to another track with no problem.
I'll have to play around with this.

You can do Automation on it for a couple of the parameters too.

Nice catch.

Forgot to mention, on the Koto instrument, open the SmartControls for it.
Notice how you can change the articulation for it on the left side.

Again, I'll have to play around with this.

Interesting... I think I also got this when loading older projects with the EXS24 mellotron patches. I was furious as it loads it in the last MIDI FX slot, I guess it's for making sure it doesn't disturb any other MIDI fx that would be in the strip. Don't know what's the use of it??

I replaced the patches with the new Mellotron plugin to clear this...

Hopefully it's part of a more robust articulation switching system set for a future release!

You know I tried changing the articulations for the Koto within Smart Controls like you mentioned, oddly the articulations didn't switch when I pressed the different buttons. The only way I was able to switch articulations was through Logic's new articulation system (the one where you select notes and assign articulations in the menu). I was however able to move the 4 knobs (Tremolo Speed/Resonance, etc) and get different tones with those.

Yes, just tried it again in fact. The articulations don't change.

And apparently it's different on instruments as well.

What needs to be more robust?
