I've always used them, they are the basis of my compositions, good for bread and butter sounds.

Still use platinum verb a lot. And the legacy gtr amp is pretty good for overdriven bass sounds.

Geez, this program has more hidden stuff than many programs have stuff. I’m aware that is an exaggeration on both counts.

it's funny, I was organising my plugins last night and removing all of the ones I don't use a lot from my "go to" folders for eq, dynamics etc...when I came across the AUSampler instrument plugin. Never even opened it before. Started fiddling around with the init sine sound and a pitch envelope, turns out it's a decent kick and 808 style bass maker. It's pretty much EXS24 but with a different interface and apparently as many envelopes and LFOs as you like. I doubt I'll be using it much, but tonight's experimentation led to some very solid bass noises (helped by d16 decimort, devil-loc deluxe and the modulator midi fx applying an envelope to devil-loc's "crush" parameter). Was fun to play around with.
