sorry folks,
on the pre listen channel strip statement. I read the question too fast... You can only include audio effects not software instruments since the pre listen channel strip is audio.
The pre listen channel strip is in the environment (open the mixer layer). When you audition loops - the loops are played via the preslisten "Audio" channel strip. So any changes you make to any inserts on this channel will be reflected when you audition loops.
Sorry for the confusion

realtime bounce in place!

cool thread!

#1 yeah a realtime 'bounce in place' that includes 'I/O' plugins and the 'External Instrument' would save me a ton of time bussing things around to rerecord them.

#2 making the global 'Stereo Output' finally totally independent from Output 1-2, please.

#3 'create new folder stack with same settings' key-command with the same assignments as the previous one, for fast recording of multiple takes with multiple inputs.

Here for the gear

I don't know if this has been mentioned but a dedicated trim control on each mixer track would be a nice alternative to adding a gain plugin on each.

You can adjust the Region Inspector for each via the Gain parameter; perhaps another solution would be to also add such control in the Track Inspector. Seemingly, this is low hanging fruit, though it would appear to represent a similar amount of work for the Logic team to just add a Trim control in the Mixer for each Track. In fact both could be added for the sake of consistency (in the Track Inspector & in the Mixer, tied to one another,) and it still seems like low hanging fruit.

As is, using a more elegant tool such as bx_control can make sense as it adds parameters addressing monoization (up to a certain frequency) and expanding/reducing the stereo field along with a Correlation Meter. However, as with the Gain plugin, you'd have to open each instantiation and forego the top level view. You do receive the benefit of better Metering for each Track, and bx_control has better M/S features than Logic's Gain. Both enable listening to the Mix in Mono & checking Phase. You can pick up brainworx's model for ~$50 when on sale. There are other solutions out there, but this one is pretty good & relatively reasonable. [Edit: bx_control V2 is $19 this week/month on PA's site, where the Demo Video is in Logic.]

Thanks so much for the head's up, purchased! Been eyeing this one for quite some time now. $139 down to $19 is an absolute no brainer
