I own a TLM103 and have been recording directly into interface but am not satisfied &

...have had literally any mic on the planet...any...but he used an SM7 because it worked for him. Not the wrong mic plus endless gear and turd-polishing. You sound far away from the mic, that's going to add more room. You're shouting - instant higher tone and less raspy thickness unless you're going death metal...
