The band was in a 200degree circle around the Dr05. The recorder was on a tall, 3m high.
I was at the foot of the tall. The sound was marvellous and the DR05 doesn't give the great immersive listening I had. Because of the omni mics so close, the stereo image is very centred Then I don't know if it's because of the windscreens I adapted on the mics but there is a lot less richness in the sound than the reality and than when I record with my usual setup.

And where was the drummer relative to the DR05? The bass drum sounded close at hand.

I don't know the Yamaha PR7, but here's a recording I made with the DR-05 laid on a table
about 15 feet in front of the band.

Just a heads-up that the DR-05 has new V2 firmware you'll probably want if you own one.

It allows overdubbing, auto-recording, auto-tone-burst, and some reverbs/rooms that are Bricasti quality. (Kidding re. Bricasti..hehe)
