That price is close to what the new KEM 975 is brand new! - rather high for a s/h mic.

The updated KEM 975 data sheet is HERE, by the way.

Not my group. Seem like nice people; I would expect that they're working down from the original purchase price ($10k+!!) without much thought to the new model.

Certainly that point would be good to bring up for negotiating...

The link bought up the price in GBP - if it's in the USA then it would be different to match the local market.

I'm surprised they are selling it, as it's a superb mic and excellent when used in difficult acoustic conditions.

That's a function of reverb- they list prices according to your location.

I think it was the wrong tool for their space/nobody knows how to use it.

Did we ever answer the OPs query? What was the solution?

Not the best sounding ones, but the ones I use all the time are AT https://www.audio-technica.com/cms/w...90b/index.html mics.
I use them for the royal broadcasts here every time

They are the only podium mics that I've tried that you can hold and scream into without popping and distorting. Try that with a schoeps

So they are my safe choice, and sound good enough for speech.
Also, they look good on picture.
