Stream audio to a classroom's participants

I have to make a presentation concerning sound, and I would like to let the participants listen to some audio examples through their headphones.
Is there a practical way to stream audio over IP in a classroom?

I initially tried VLC. It works, but after a few seconds, the audio becomes stuttered. I tried different settings but the result does not change.
I know that there are optimum webcasting services, I also tried one but the latency makes the lesson a bit bizarre.

I would like to use VLC or a similar application that makes it possible, otherwise, I also accept other types of solutions.
