Small diaphragm mic test on acoustic guitar for magazine story

...It's for a magazine article I'm writing. Here are a few I've already heard: - B&K 4011 - Neumann KM84 - Gefell M300 - AKG C460B - Oktavamod MC012 - Schoeps CMT341 - Studio Projects C4 - Shure SM81 - AT4031 - Peluso CMEMC6 Any more suggestions? I'm looking for great high end mics or suprisingly good low end mics. Jasper

1 KM184 or a pair of something else (for acoustic guitar)

For sparse recordings don't discount two different mics in a mid-side configuration. Something like an old AKG C460B ULS coupled with a Royer R121 perhaps. You can pick up those AKG mics pretty cheap used. I have a pair of them and I generally prefer them to my pair of 184's....

I've always had a problem with mid/side, and maybe I'm doing it wrong... But the balance is always off. I guess it's because I'm setting up camp near the neck/body joint of the guitar, instead of aiming right at the sound hole. Once the side mic is added, the left-right balance is way off. But...
