Tracks double upp in Live

Hi

What tha "fk" is this thing that my tracks increase in volume and double up as I focus on tracks.

One track, VST och external instrument double up or/and change as soon i mark the tracks.

This thing happen when I am in Session mode.

So disturbing and strange.

What is that?

Hi mate, can you give more detail ? Nothing should be increasing volume unless you are increasing the track volume slider or the loudness of a sample. Not sure what you mean by double up either, again this should only happen if you duplicate a clip?

Hi!

Thanks for your answer.
I have used Live since 9.2 (ish . This is something new.
Before I had Logic Pro/Pro X as my goto, but like Live for ideas.

In my "go to default setup" I have like 3-5 groups of external instrument, like my JDXA, SE-02 and also Analog Four MK1. Some only A4 with USB.
But this time it was not even running.

Then as synth VST/AU:s I use Avenger and Ana 2.
Some instances och Phalanx and about 50 tracks in total.
Maybe a bit overkill, but like to grab what I need without thinking.
Have spent "a few hours" on my templates I asure you

About 25 of them is only "summing groups" and drums. Nothing special.

This doesn´t happen all the time. But a couple of times, like yesterday...
Had one track with a melody going with ANA 2 and just KICK 2 on one more.

Then I put some MIDI into Roland SE-02 as a external. With MIDI-DIN.
But it doesn't matter if it's some external or Avenger.

When I switched focus from one to another track.
It doubles up. Like both with strange delays and gain with the track in session view.

If I then go back and focus at my ANA-track. Or what ever it stop.

Back to the other and it's the same old song...

Had to both start my UAD Thunderbolt interface over and quit my Live project.

Sorry if I write to much or sounds confusing.
Now my focus was on spelling and some hope in my grammar =)

But next time this happens, I will for sure put my Quicktime into screen recording, with audio...

Any ideas?!

All the best!

Hi Rickard

I’ve never used that many external instruments so not pushed things to that level , sounds like a bug.

Have you emailed ableton support , they’d probably be interested in this from a tech perspective

Sorry I can’t help more

Oh sorry I missed your answer.

I am not sure. But it might be as "stupid" that I had one track, or more, set to MIDI from all ins.
But my setup should be all VST/AU from Push 2 and all external instruments set to its own.
I guess it's a bit complicated, but most of the time everything runs without major issues.

Latency is of course there all the time.
Maybe my UAD save me some in the end

Should probably not try to calculate how many days/weeks/months it took to end up with 256
buffersize. SE02 at 170 samples delay. JDXA at 265. No quantization.
Only delay compensation in Live 10.
Without low latency checked.

That with all MIDI DIN in & out at 48kHz.

Try to do that math

drag 'em into empty space (to the right of your last track)

Yes. Follow the signals one at a time. You're likely doubling up your signal with your routings. The chances this is a bug are very small. Are you by any chance using the solo button(s) when this happens? There is a known bug with that I think.

Hi!

Thank's for your input.

I think you're right. The track probably was set to MIDI all ins.
Then I had MIDI settings with "sync out" so it started each time i pressed play.

With all my routings something is made to cause trouble.
But I learn new things everyday.

Soon I might get a diploma for routing MIDI and audio in Live. No joke
JDXA, SE-02, A4, Volca Beats, A-01. MIDI and audio.
Plus Push 2, Axiom Air, Maschine MK1 and two guitars to fight. Haha.
But I never give uo, so the last part is to get all in sync. In both Live 10 and Logic PX.

Two UAD units is another beast to tame, with all it's ins and outs.
And one Alesis 3632 compressor.
Then it's about CV...

That should put everyone on thin ice

Always something new...

Merry Christmas by the way
