The Bandwaggon

Introducing,
The BandWaggon Remote Recording Service a division of Millbrook Sound Studio
(www.millbrooksoundstudio.com)

We offer a vintage style Recording mixing rig that can be set up anywhere in about 1 hour!

- THE CONCEPT

If you are like me, I've always really loved the vibe of those older "home type" recordings made OUT of the traditional recording studio confines.
There are lots of classic records made this way, most of which were done with some sort of mobile unit (a truck or trailer) parked outside of an unused Theater, Concert Hall, Gymnasium, Barn, Castle, and or a Casino.

A few examples of Classic records that were made this way are:
-The Band, Music From Big Pink
-Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers
-Rolling Stone, Exile On Main Street
-Led Zeppelin, III
-Led Zeppelin, IV
-Led Zeppelin, Houses of the Holy
-Led Zeppelin, Physical Graffiti
-Bad Company, Bad Company
-Bad Company, Straight Shooter
-Deep Purple, Machine Head
-Mott the Hoople, Drive On
-The Who, Quadrophenia

- A few more recent artists who recorded in locations other then traditional recording studios, halls, barns, Hotel rooms, etc...
-Chris Whitley, Dirt Floor
-Bob Dylan, O Mercy
-Emmylou Harris, Wrecking Ball
-Bon Iver, For Emma, Forever Ago
-Radiohead, OK Computer
-Ray Lamontagne, God Willing and the Creek won't Rise
-Cracker, Kerosene Hat
-Neil Young, Le Noise

So you get the idea,

- The VIBE MAN, THE VIBE!

In a nutshell,
I wanted to be able to capture the vibe and emotion as heard and felt on the records mentioned above, along with the sonic attributes of those older classic recordings.
I did my research, and found that a lot of the classic records I loved were recorded on a Helios type Recording console. (all of the classic ones mentioned above were!)
So I designed a portable rig around the Helios type 69 modules and a few vintage mics.
I wanted a world class system that could be set up in remote locations, and capture the sound and vibe of those classic records I loved so much.
A system which would never get in the way of the band or artist creating music, And yet very simple to use.
And that's what we are now offering to bands, musician, and artists in the North East.

The BandWaggon comes to your home, or location, and basically sets up a studio in the place where you feel most comfortable.
And the recording will be captured with some of the most desired equipment, both vintage modern available to

WANTED: Timpani Foley Recordings

Hey!

I'm looking for some varying timpani recordings for example, rolls and basic one shot hits at different an varying velocities

So all I would need is about 20 samples of different low timpani sounds.

Regarding specifics, I'm working on a cinematic pack for composers and producers to download and use in their own projects. It will consist of around 128 high quality cinematic Hits, Inceptions, Atmospheric Drones, Instrument Loops and Rises!

The sound pack is looking pretty promising so far, just need some awesome timpani sounds from you! Then I can make some really cool Hits and Inceptions like these: http://soundcloud.com/joshuacrispin/sets/joshuas-sounds/s-gGv2l

So in summery, depending on how much you charge will determine how many recordings I can get from you. I'm aiming for about 20 sample recordings using some different techniques.

Crescendo Rolls
F FF - Hard Hits
P PP - Softer Hits
Maybe some more experimental ones too, not sure what exactly haha

Maybe if you're interested we can work out a contra deal with the pack if you’re interested.

The sounds will be used in sounds such as the following: http://soundcloud.com/joshuacrispin/sets/joshuas-sounds/s-gGv2l

THIS IS A PAYED JOB

Contact me if you're interested: joshua(at)generdyn.com

Rock on guys!

Regards,
Generdyn

Creative Audio Works LLC

On-line Mastering for Compact Discs

Compact Disc mastering is the final process your music passes through on its passage from inception to the listening experience. Mastering will ensure that your songs are set to reproduce proper tonal balance and dynamic enhancement for digital distribution. CD mastering is what makes your assorted group of songs into an evenly mixed recording. Remember, you are not ‘mastering online’, rather you are using the Creative Audio Works website to send your tracks to us and pay for the service. Your songs will be mastered in the traditional format " in a professional mastering studio

We work closely with each artist to make sure they get the sound they want. Mastering engineer Stewart Adam, with 30 plus years of audio experience, uses state of the art studio design, mastering equipment and software that allows Creative Audio Works to provide outstanding audio mastering services at affordable rates.

The popular notion that mastering is primarily about optimizing levels, has unfortunately drawn many engineers, as well as novices, into the mastering arena. The outcome has resulted in overly compressed and processed tracks with borderline distortion. Now more than ever mastering is the most important step in the process of creating a CD. Modern recorded music needs to translate and sound its best on a wide variety of playback systems from ear buds to audiophile equipment. Only with the use of a professionally designed audio studio is the possible
