Remixer/Editor/Sound Designer Needed
I have an immediate need for a remixer/editor/sound designer for our commercial radio production music service.

The job basically entails creating "production beds" out of pre-existing music tracks by layering them with drum hits, loops and SFX elements, and then using creative editing and sound design to build transitions and texture changes. The genres will be mostly techno/electronica, rock, and country with some pop/Top 40, news and adult contemporary mixed in.

This is definitely more of a "remixer/sound designer" type of gig as opposed to a "composer/producer" situation...but having decent compositional/musical sensibility definitely wouldn't hurt smiling face

The right candidate for this position will be a "self starter" with great ears and work ethic, the ability to maintain a schedule and meet deadlines, and good communication skills (i.e. responding positively to criticism). At this point, the gig will probably average 10-20 hours per week with the possibility to grow as our needs evolve.

Here is a quick synopsis of the process:

1. Every Monday, my company contracts out for a given number of production beds. We will provide very specific direction regarding genre, tempo, length, etc. We will also provide "raw materials" for remixing (i.e. the underlying snippet of music that will be the starting point for the remixed production bed).
2. The remixer/editor will create the production bed using the given materials and will submit rough mixes no later than Wednesday evening for approval.
3. Upon approval, the remixer/editor will print final mixes and upload them to our server no later than noon PDT on Friday of each week.

As a reference, I've posted some examples of "finished product" from our library - listen at http://soundcloud.com/radiobumpers123.

To apply for this position, please send an email to radiobumpers@gmail.com including the following:

1. Your name & contact info
2. Preferred platform and/or studio tools (ProTools, Logic, Ableton Live, etc)
3. Your salary requirements
4. MOST IMPORTANT: Please attach at least 3, and no more than 10, clips of your BEST production work in MP3 format.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Mike

Commercial Rock/Pop Single Mix Off - $500
I'm a singer/songwriter working on a single for release in coming months, and an album for release later this year...

I need to find the right mix engineer to work with... I have a test mix done of the single, which is very solid but I want to see who else is out there and if there is someone who has a vibe I like more.

I have a good understanding of sound and am good at tracking/recording - but mixing is not my forte. Having said that, I would say my mixing skills are above average - so I expect yours to be amazing.

I have had many good experiences with remote mixing before - and when I have posted before I get a lot of interest. Last time I worked with an engineer from GearSlutz the results were solid... this time however, rather than picking one engineer, I thought it might be a good idea to see who's out there, what they're capable of working on my material and give a few engineers a chance - in a sort of "closed competition".

The song is a 3-minute pop/rock song with a male vocals, few guitar parts, piano, organ, bass and drums. It's recorded at 88.2/24. You need the ability to reamp or otherwise process guitars and bass from DI signals... I will provide DI signals and some guide tones, as well as a rough mix.

The mix that I judge as being the best - be it because it has a vibe I really like, or I just I think it's best - will get $500. The winning engineer will also likely the person I will work with on mixing the album - 12 tracks.

So... if you have what it takes and are interested, send a link to some examples of your work to:

mixoff@carrierwave.com

Then, if I like what I hear I will be in touch with more details.
