Guitar tone? Drum sound? What do you think?

This is the first recording i might actually let people hear. Let me know what you think of the sounds, the mix and if you spot any rookie mistakes. It would be a big help.

The drums sound boxy to me. Almost in mono. Was that the effect you were going for?

IMHO the Bass sounded buried.

The guitars sound nice except they sound a little static, like the drums. I wanted to hear a wider space in the sound. A room mic perhaps...

Like the Tool vibe.

I would say the snare right now is dominating and the only reason this bothers me (because I usually like a hot snare) is that the actual performance and the snare hits are inconsistant and get distracting when it's this loud. I think the kick needs to come up and snare come down for a good balance - maybe bring up the bass also.

thanks for the input guys. the boxy thing is not what i was going for. im still learning. i made some adjustments because of this thread. (fixed snare hits, turned up bd and room mic + did some panning)

i also did some more eq to the bass. which i recorded direct in with a guitar and eq because i dont have a bass around at the moment.
