THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT

Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
Who are young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people
And I want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their home
And I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes in to us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
But then a strange fear gripped me
And I just couldn't ask

Take me out tonight
Oh take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
No, I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes in to us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine

There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out

I did a remake of the song and wanted to upload it to Gearslutz. I've uploaded many songs before, not sure why it's not working. The total file size is within the limits. And why has GS been down so often? Seems like the powers that be haven't crossed their proverbial T's and haven’t dotted their I's...

The song is kinda cool.
But I hate the sound of the drums-machine-loop or whatever it is.
It's very annoying.
Re-do the drums it will sound much cooler!

well, being a HUGE Smiths fan, I gotta say - I think it's cool

It's a neat alternative take on a great song.

It's amazing how it's so hard to screw up a great tune !!

I've heard some great tunes be destroyed.
Lots of factors and variables.

Yea the drums do get a little redundant. I tracked and mixed this in one night minus the vocals, so for that short amount of time I think it came out pretty good. Viva The Smiths! I still like it when I hear my version though, (Not of course to the original) it's like discothèque meets The Smiths.
