Song dedicated to Mom - need mix critiques.

My mom is getting married and asked me to write her a song as a wedding gift. So this is what my songwriting partner (the vocalist) and I came up with. Since this has a lot of meaning, I thought I would get some opinions on the mix. I'd like to get some constructive criticism of anything that could be done better. Thanks for checking it out!

Nice mix man. I might be tempted to add a db or two to the vocals and maybe do a little more viding of the lead vox, some words are pretty low.

A little tip to help here, take your monitor level WAY down to the point where you can just hear the music and make your vocal rides at that level. Anything that is too loud will stick out like a cactus plant on a beach and anything that is too soft will get swallowed up in the mix pretty quickly.

Again, nice tones and mix, good song too..

Mix is really good. Song is really good...my friend and I are writing in this style of music now. I love it. One thing that could give this song a more powerful feel. Change the 1st two measures of drums. A big crash/kick hit on beat one for the first measure. On the second measure do a build up on the snare/floor tom/kick drum (1+2+3+) then a snare fill on 4 +. Thats the way I hear the song. It will bring it into the chorus a lot better. But I say again...catchy song, really really pretty. I like the strings in the middle. Nothing bad about this song at all. Keep it up.
