Pop punk mix. Please give critiques.

This is a pop punk band I'm recording for a split. They need the mixes by Monday and I still have a TON of work to do. If any of you could give this a listen and pass along your advice, it would be greatly appreciated. My ears are pretty spent.

Sounds pretty good as-is...

'Ya need a lot more kick & snare though. More attack/top on both of them too, they sound kinda veiled. Toms are fine...I'd also bring up & maybe brighten the overheads a tad. Probably cut some low-mids/upper bass out of the bass guitar...like 120-250Hz.

If you have time, I'd seperate the guitars & vocals out and play with the width of the mix because it's really kinda mono.

Agreed...Kick and snare.
I like the mix.
Nice crunchy guitar.
Good vox for a punk band.
Good job, dude!

Doesn't most punk sound a little mono-ish?

Here's a slightly modified version of that song, and the other band on the split.

Bangarang(first band) - http://recordings.thepremierrock.com...rt%2007.09.mp3

The Wonder Years(other band)[Warning: Explicit Lyrics] - http://recordings.thepremierrock.com...0geraldine.mp3

I have a little bit more time to finish these up now. They're not getting it pressed anymore. (Thank God.)

In song #2...The Wonder Years(other band)

The vocals sound a tad too inverted.
I know the probably is a good reason for that...
LOL!
The drums are a little too over-powering.

I liked the first song's mix far better.
The musicans on song one come off as more professional and tighter.

That's just my take...

Thanks. I have a lot more time in the first mix, so I guess it makes sense that it's a stronger mix. Heh. I still haven't automated anything on the second mix besides some delay on the vocals.

What do you mean by the vocals being inverted?

The first band is a real band. The second band was originally started as a joke. They're now trying to take the band more seriously, but still with silly lyrics and retarded antics. It doesn't work. Their other songs on this split are about leperachans, the drummer of the first band driving too fast(this song is AWFUL), and hardcore dancing to lose weight. Yes. I'm serious.

I definitely agree with killing the drums a bit on the second one. The guitars are too buried.

The vocals are not up front enough.
