Young engineer needs feedback on yesterdays session!

My friend and I did this session yesterday. I'm wondering how ya'll think it sounds. This is our first rough mix. I didn't eq anything yet. How does it all sit with eachother? I think it sounds pretty good for a rough mix. No vocals yet, we're doing thoes today. I'll post another mix later on tonight with the vocals. I would love feedback on all aspects of the song; mixing, structure, eq?, song writing????

Thanks a lot,

BLakeee

The only thing that sticks out to me is the snare sound. I would scoop out a bit of the mids at around 300 to 400 hz-- it is a bit ringy.

The playing is sure good, and the sound is nice too!

sorry guys. It's taking us longer than expected to get the vocals finished. We should have them done in the next couple days. Thanks mcollinge for your input. I'll try that next time i get the session up.

Thanks!

Hey I love it, it has a sound.

My only negative point is the kick, I'd replace it by a breathy, pearl-jam style kick...
This one sounds boxy to me a bit.

Other than that, there's nothing that comes to mind! good job

Yeah, diggin the sound! On CHEAP headphones right now, so can't really comment too much. Good performance, good sound. The snare sounds a little over-compressed in the higher end, but I like the tone that comes out in the lower end. I'll listen again tomorrow at the studio. Sounds like you've got your head in the right place for mixing!
