pop/rock first post

this is my first post so i guess this is just as much of an experiment as it is me wanting everyybodys suggestions. this is a pop/rock song with acoustics, electrics, piano, bass, loops, synths, vocals and bgvs. its kind of a rough mix, and i still wouldnt mind putting the vocals through an autotune. i just wanted to see how close i could get to tolerable with just comping. i also think the vocal might be a little hot, particularly in the beggining before most of the instruments come in. a lot of the intruments might be stepping on each other because theyre all kind of in the same range so i might do more staggering of when the parts come in and out. let me know what you guys think.

bring the heat, i can take it. should i go work at walmart or somthing?

Song is pretty good. I think the guitars are a bit flat sounding. and song could really use some drums, it gets a bit long without. I think its a good start.

The song is great!

I agree with that pixelhead said about putting som real drums in after a say 2.20. Then I think that low "stepping in the hallway" reverb loop that is under the acustic guitarr is just blurring the sound. I like the voice of the singer but after a while I think he start to sing muddy and unclear. I don't think you should autotune it, I like a certain untuned voice. The electric guitarr from 1.50 sounds really boring, flat and is not lifting the song. Change sound and play with more enthusiasm (<--how the h**l do you spell that word). Otherwise I think the levels and the mix is OK.

thanks for the suggestions guys. the electrics are kinda crappy now that you mention it. i recorded di tracks with the intention of reamping later but never got around to it. i threw on an amp farm soldano and i was wondering if it could pass. clearly it wont! i think im going to add drums too after the suggestions. i was thinking of starting the drums at 1:45 or 2:20. and i think ill fade the loop out after the intro and bring it in towards the outro. it kinda gets lost in the middle and does more bad than good.

thanks!

It's really not bad at all. It's got a good atmosphere to it. I just keep thinking... I don't know... there should be something more.

(Shut up. You wish you said it.)

Seriiously, add some drums to this and you've really got something. Oh, and try a different sound for underneath the acoustic guitars. I agree with whoever suggested that.
