Acoustic Guitar with SM81

I took the acoustic guitar and strummed a little. I duplicated the track and panned left and right. Added a very sparse percussion loop.

Pesonus TubePre into M-Audio Fasttrack into Cubase. I tried putting a little compression and some medium room verb on the guitar.

Does this sound good, bad, boomy, crap?

It seems to me that I hear some kind of frequency thing vibrating like weird harmonics making noises as I'm strumming. Can you hear it?

Scott

Very pretty. Yeah, sounds like the compressor is causing some artifacts as it's working. I'd suggest... compress each track separately, slow down the attack (maybe 20 ms) and release (maybe 100-300 ms) on the gtr, keep the ratio at 2:1 or less, alternatively try a good multiband compressor used very gently (that's what I prefer). The Waves linear multiband is great, and the slim slow slider C3 multiband is also very good and it's freeware.

Best thing though, is to find a mic position and room configuration where there isn't any boom in the raw track.
