Sample Drum Track Request? I don't know if this is the right place, but I'm looking for a drum track taken with an overhead mic only. Does anyone have a sample of a drum set with the only pickup comming from an overhead mic? I'd like to have one to play for the band to see if I can't convince them to take oneof the tom mics and use it for overhead.

I don't think you want to use a tom mic as an overhead honestly. I don't think anyone is going to have clips on their computer of a drum track with just the overhead(s), and I don't know what the would prove to the band anyway. If you guys need inexpensive drum overheads, I suggest you take a look at these: http://www.oktavausa.com/ Good luck

you should just record 30 seconds of the band playing with the overhead set up, and then show them in the control room during playback.

I ment I would use one of the snake channels that was used by a tom. Thanks for the link. I can show up for practice to try it out. I talked to them tonight and am a little confused. They're using 16 channels now, and say they have around 22-24 total. One guy said they don't have any microphone cables to use as extensions and another guy is saying that the snake is full. We'll see... I'm a little excited to learn that one of the band members has a MOTU 24i that he hasn't used in a long time. Hopefully I can borrow that to use in place of the 8 channel 1224. :) THen I can pull off all 3 drums, the overhead, guitars, and each vocal person. Grant
