This track is off my bands first EP. We weren't ready for the studio at the time so I just did it in my untreated basement with some decent gear. The next recording will be done at the studio i work at. Feel free to comment/critique. Its the first track, Waterbodies- elephants and whales. Its not the regular myspace music player.

If you added additional reverb back it off cos the whole thing is swimming in space. If the reverb is meant to be part of the "aesthetic", then it's the wrong choice of reverb. It makes the whole space sound .....fake.

The general trick to using reverb is not to use it on everything in the mix (especially the same reverb and in large amounts). In your case delays (rich, complex blend of a few set to different timings) might be a better choice to create spacey vibe without "smearing" the sound and causing it to lose immediacy and impact.

If there is no added reverb, try gating the drums and using transient designer type plugins to take out some of the "room" sound.

It's a nice song (even though I am not into this genre)!
