how do i upload mp3s?

I've tried Firefox and Mozilla and neither one works. (Nor does Konqueror). Msft's browser doesn't run on Linux. Emailing works ok, but can i email to this forum?

I do not have the java runtime extension installed. I am on a dial-up (28k) connection.

Your help would be greatly appreciated, I do want to know what you think of the song and the recording.

It will simply take a LOOOOOOOOONG time at 28k dial up

It's done via the 'manage attachments" opotion under the new post text window.

Set it rolling in "upload" and go cook dinner, check it every 10 mins or so..

Thanks for the response, Jules,

I will give uploading another try. What concerns me is that I use an external modem, and the "SD" light is off most of the time (after a flurry of initial handshake negotiation).

As it stands, my only alternatives are either moving to a location with high speed access, renting a T1 line, or perhaps getting on line with Windows although that would mean getting a new ISP (long story, but basically I'm 'grandfathered-in' with no Windows support unless I want to give up my no-hassle PPP).

hi Jules,

How many hours should I give it before I stop trying to upload the MP3? In the small upload window, there is a progress bar and after about three hours, nothing is showing. The message at the bottom of the screen reads, "Sending request to Gearslutz.com..."

I disabled *******er, (although I didn't think it was acting on this site because your ads are ones I want to see) which appeared to be blocking, "http://gearslutz.com/board/clientscript/vbulletin_global.js" &
"http://gearslutz.com/board/clientscript/vbulletin_menu.js"

Any ideas would be appreciated.
